Sunset Transportation Joins with 17 Area Businesses to Collect Sports Equipment Donations for Kids in Haiti

ST. LOUIS, MO – Sunset Transportation, Inc. and 17 other St. Louis area businesses are joining together to sponsor the St. Louis Kids Kick In & Go to Bat for Haiti effort to collect and send good-condition, gently used and new sports equipment, uniforms, team caps and other wearables for kids in Haiti.

The effort, led by a grassroots group of sports fans and business leaders, is designed to be a kid-to-kid initiative where St. Louis area children personally donate to Haitian children who have lost everything. Local children can provide photos and write a personal note with their donations.

Timeline for donations:
• Soccer donations: Kids Kick In Phase: Through April 1, 2010
• Baseball donations: Kids Go to Bat Phase: April 2, 2010 – May 30, 2010

Items needed: Soccer balls, soccer shoes, soccer jerseys and shorts, shin guards, team bags, baseball caps, bats and balls, baseball wearables and uniforms, baseball shoes, team bags. Donations will be shipped in July.

St. Louis community partners include: Plaza Motors, Sinclair Auto Group, Fusz Automotive Group, Suntrup Auto Group, Weiss Auto Group, Waterways Gas and Wash, Triad Bank, Vetta Sports Group, Mandy’s Candies, Robust Wine Bar and Cafe, Affton Trucking and Intermodal, St. Louis University, Clayton Studios, Trabue/CBK and The ORCA Partnership, and Sunset Transportation.

This effort is also held in cooperation with KMOX NewsRadio 1120, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and 1010 ESPN Sports Radio.
